Text for Help?

A recent study in the American Journal of Public Health (March 2008, vol.98,no.3, pp.393-395; doi:10.2105/AJPH.2007.110767) reports on a text messaging service in San Francisco designed to address rising rates of sexually transmitted diseases among African American teens. Youth text "SEXINFO" to a 5-digit number and receive information and referral services in response. The project has support from community, religious, and health groups. Example messages may be viewed at: www.sextextsf.org.

Would a similar service be possible in Tennessee for substance abuse prevention and treatment? Could this be an extension of something like Tennessee Redline? Do any providers in Tennessee operate anything similar already?
