Substance Abuse and Child Welfare

SAMHSA is partnering with the Agency for Children, Youth, and Families (ACYF) to sponsor a National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW). The mission:

"to improve systems and practice for families with substance use disorders who are involved in the child welfare and family judicial systems by assisting local, State and tribal agencies."

The site contains a variety of useful information about substance abuse and issues related to child maltreatment, interface between the substance abuse and child welfare systems, and technical assistance for those interested.
